Two pairs in courtship and one male sky-dancing &#8211; wonderful!)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Swallow (our first of the spring)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sand Martin (x4 our first of the spring)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wood Pigeon (two parties of x4 and x6 respectively hanging around two separate woodland blocks)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cuckoo (x3 separate individuals)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>White Wagtail<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Blackcap (birds singing in two separate woodlands)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Redwing (a late bird still hanging around)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lesser Redpoll (first of the spring)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Common Lizards (x6 along a 200m length of grass verge in the late afternoon sunshine)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Common Heath moth (a couple of early individuals &#8211; usually a common sight from mid-May)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>20\/04\/2024 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Whooper Swan (a wedge of 14 flying north early evening with x3 Canada Geese in tow)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brambling (a female bird in our Arinagour garden)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>19\/04\/2024 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Whooper Swan (the single bird still on Loch Ballyhaugh)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Little Grebe (x2 regularly return to the same loch at this time of year)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cuckoo (our first of the year)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wheatears (back in good numbers now)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Twite (x4) <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>17\/04\/2024 (we&#8217;re back!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The first Corncrake of the year was reported today<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Greenland White-fronted Goose (a large flock of x100 birds heading north-west in a well-rehearsed &#8216;v&#8217; formation)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Short-necked Oil Beetles<\/strong> (x5 separate individuals on machair along the north-west-facing coast of the island)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Many-lobed Dandelion <\/strong>(an RDB species which grows in abundance on the Coll machair)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>13\/04\/2024 (we&#8217;re not back for another week but here are some recent reports&#8230;)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Eider (the first of the spring)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Long-tailed Duck<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Greenshank<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Golden Plover<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Water Rail<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Brambling<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Blue Tit<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coal Tit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Redwing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>02\/04\/2024 (we&#8217;re not back for another week but we had to include this&#8230;)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>HOOPOE<\/strong> (reported via Birdguides this afternoon &#8211; beside the medical practice in Arinagour!
